Preface nach oben
Dear colleagues,
Welcome to Mainz, Germany!
We are pleased to present you the final program of the 2nd International Glaucoma
Meeting, that will be held in Mainz, Oct 10th-11th, 2014.
This year we will focus our view on „Diagnosis and Therapy of the Glaucomas“.
International clinical and basic research theme leaders in glaucoma are sharing their
knowledge and experience with us.
Existing diagnostic tools for glaucoma diagnosis as well as new innovative imaging
methods will be discussed in the fi rst part of the meeting. The role of biomarker and
neuroprotection in glaucoma is presented by basic researchers in the course of the
conference.
We are very proud that Professor Robert N. Weinreb, Chairman of Shiley Eye Center
and Director of the Hamilton Glaucoma Center, will give a keynote lecture on
„Glaucoma Myths“. Professor Weinreb is a worldknown clinician and scientist and
his research is focused on mechanisms of optic nerve damage, imaging of the optic
nerve, ageing of the eye etc.
On the second day, internationally known glaucoma surgeons will present new
techniques for healing glaucoma. Furthermore, we will learn about glaucoma beyond
IOP and clinical studies ongoing in glaucoma research.
We hope you will enjoy a terrifi c and fruitful meeting!
